Dungeons and Dragons

Pottery Classes

How the groups work: You gather at least 4 kids (max 10, with 2 Dungeon Masters for D&D) to meet after school — either at my UWS location (80th & Broadway) or a location you arrange. I open with a social coaching presentation, then a professional Dungeon Master or potter takes over while I support the group through the activity. Total time is 90 minutes–2 hours, depending on the kids' needs. Snacks welcome — bring your own or I can provide.

Note: kids should have the stamina for a structured, collaborative session after a full school day.

My classes are tailored to the students in the group. I lead every group myself. I’m explicitly neurodiversity-affirming and experienced with 2e, neurodivergent, and profoundly gifted students.

My approach is explicitly anti-masking: we build social fluency at whatever pace a child's battery allows. Beyond social conventions, kids learn about themselves; I validate their own neurodiversity, and teach effective self-advocacy.

For many of my students, working with me is the first time they realize that they are not a problem, and not alone. I deserve and can create connection and belonging. About three-quarters of my kids tell me it's their favorite afterschool activity.
